AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS – 1 AUGUST 2024 – KRAFTON Inc. has announced the start of its Global Beta Test for the new game Dark and Darker Mobile from August 1 to 11 in countries such as South Korea, the United States, Japan, and Türkiye. Due to increased demand from players, KRAFTON has taken steps to double its server capacity, allowing more players to enter the beta.

This test, the first outside of South Korea, was organised to meet the high expectations of international users. During participant recruitment from July 16 to 31, the number of applicants exceeded targets, highlighting the strong interest in Dark and Darker Mobile from international players. KRAFTON plans to use feedback from this test to further improve the game and is aiming for a global release later in 2024.

Dark and Darker Mobile will introduce a variety of new content during this test. The new class, Wizard, utilises powerful elemental magic. The Village System has also been added, allowing players to gather materials through fishing, then cook food to temporarily boost character stats. Additionally, improvements to the Mercenary System and adjustments to weapon and item balance will provide a more enjoyable gaming experience.

Two new trailers have been released on YouTube and other official Dark and Darker Mobilecommunity channels. Released on July 30, the Story Trailer takes viewers into the game’s dark medieval low fantasy world, while the gameplay trailer rolled out on August 1 showcases newly added content, including the Wizard class.

To commemorate the test, an event will be held on the official Dark and Darker Mobile X channel. Participants can take screenshots of their character’s equipped gear and items and share them on X to enter a draw for a chance to win gift cards for Google Play or iTunes. This event runs from 1-11 August.

Joonseok Ahn, Executive Producer at Bluehole Studio overseeing the development of Dark and Darker Mobile, said, “We are excited to offer players the opportunity to experience the new gameplay and fun of Dark and Darker Mobile through this global test. We will gather feedback on various content to launch the game with a higher level of completion.”

Meanwhile, Dark and Darker Mobile will participate in gamescom 2024, the world’s largest game show, held in Cologne, Germany, in August. KRAFTON is planning to reveal new information on the game during the Opening Night Live event and provide hands-on opportunities for visitors.
