NEYMAR JR. DROPS INTO PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS WITH UPDATE 20.2

The game’s latest content update will also bring Deston back to the map rotation, make adjustments to vehicle spawn rates and improve the matchmaking system
AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS – Nov. 2, 2022 – When the latest update for KRAFTON, Inc.’s PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS releases on Nov. 9 for PC and Nov. 17 for consoles, it will see global superstar soccer player Neymar Jr. take over the world of PUBG. Collaborative objects like billboards, building decorations, soccer balls and care packages with Neymar Jr. will be added to every map in the game. Update 20.2 will also include a series of adjustments to the game’s map rotation, vehicle spawn rates and more.

- Map Rotation: With this update, Deston will be coming back to the Normal Match pool. The full breakdown of the planned map rotation is outlined below:
- PC in NA, EU, SA, OC, RU
- Normal Match: Erangel, Miramar, Taego, Karakin, Deston
- Ranked: Erangel, Miramar, Taego
- PC in AS, SEA, KR, JP
- Normal Match: Erangel, Miramar, Taego, Sanhok, Deston
- Ranked: Erangel, Miramar, Taego
- Consoles
- Normal Match: Erangel, Miramar, Taego, Karakin, Deston
- Ranked: Erangel, Miramar, Taego
- PC in NA, EU, SA, OC, RU
- Vehicle Spawn Balance in Normal Matches: Adjustments will be made to vehicle spawn rates in Erangel and Miramar for Normal Matches. The full breakdown is outlined below:
- Erangel
- UAZ: Increased by approximately 20%.
- Dacia: Increased by approximately 26%.
- Aquarail: Decreased by approximately 22%.
- Buggy: Decreased by approximately 11%.
- Boat: Decreased by approximately 23%.
- Miramar
- Pickup: Increased by approximately 8%.
- Mirado: Increased by approximately 18%.
- Erangel
- Normal Match Matchmaking System: With this update players will see improvements to the matchmaking system for Normal Matches to have it work better based on players’ Matchmaking Rating (MMR). Previously, Matchmaking was based on a player’s pre-made party’s average MMR. However, matchmaking will now be based on the highest MMR within a player’s party. The goal is to preserve current squad play mechanics while focusing on individual stats rather than a team as a whole.
