KRAFTON’S TTS APPLIED TO RELU GAMES’ UNCOVER THE SMOKING GUN

– KRAFTON’s deep learning division’s TTS model “DiTTo” implemented
– Three additional officially supported languages and an OST DLC released

AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS – 12 September 2024 – ReLU Games, a creative studio under KRAFTON Inc., announced an update to the AI detective game Uncover the Smoking Gunon September 12th.

In this update, ReLU Games collaborated with KRAFTON to incorporate the advanced Text-to-Speech (TTS) model “DiTTo” into the game. Developed by KRAFTON’s deep learning division earlier this year, this is the first time DiTTo has been applied in a live game setting.
DiTTo is an innovative example of applying diffusion transformers to voice synthesis, allowing for more natural and flexible speech compared to traditional TTS technologies. A diffusion transformer is the latest AI modeling technique that combines the step-by-step data generation process of diffusion models with the exceptional relationship learning capabilities of transformers.

The model simplifies the AI training process, allowing faster and more accurate generation of new voices, providing an AI voice that is remarkably similar to that of a human.
With this update, robotic suspects in the game will now respond to questions not only with text but also with AI-generated speech, enhancing the user experience significantly. Currently, only English voices are supported, but we plan to introduce AI voices in various other languages in the future.

Additionally, the update adds three new languages—Portuguese, Italian, and Polish—to the eight previously supported languages in the game. Responding to popular demand, the game’s original soundtrack (OST) has also been released as a downloadable content (DLC).
To mark the large-scale update, ReLU Games is offering a special discount on Steam from the September 12th to the 26th. During this two-week period, users can purchase the main game and DLC at a discounted price.

Qsun, the producer at ReLU Games, stated, “By integrating TTS with large language models (LLMs), we aim to offer more natural communication in-game, delivering a deeply immersive experience. DiTTo represents the starting point and a crucial milestone toward the fusion of AI and gaming.”
